An ardent activist and a tireless community volunteer. Halimeh has done extensive charitable work with the Canadian Cancer Society, an Advisory Board member at CHAT, and on behalf of many marginalized groups both in Iran and here in Toronto. She was a senior Board member at IWOO and a founding and executive member of the Iranian Canadian Social Service Providers Network, facilitating access to resources for hundreds of refugees and new immigrants. Halimeh has provided ongoing leadership to various organizations in the settlement sector. Halimeh continues to provide guidance and support to an orphanage in Iran and leads fundraising initiatives for youth and family crises centres. Halimeh, is a retired teacher with over 30 years of experience and also she worked at Ryerson University for more than 15 years. She has also worked for corporate and not-for-profit sector in administration and management capacity.
