Atessa holds a Master’s degree in Clinical Psychology and works as a counselor and therapist. She is an artist with a background in Mathematics and Information Technology. Atessa believes that abstract math made her a logically analytical individual; her background in Technology and 20 years of experience as an IT expert in Canada have given her a good understanding of the Technical world, and her ever-lasting love for art and creativity has kept her connected to her soul and right side of her brain.
Atessa is a 3-times Cancer survivor, and in 2015, when she had her 3rd episode of Breast Cancer, she decided to answer her callings and started a non-profit for the well-being of individuals and the community utilizing folk arts and Oral Culture. (Hooshvar Foundation)
Since then Atessa Started pursuing her education in psychology and put her focus on helping people and
the most vulnerable individuals in every walk of life. Atessa believes her rich life experiences as a woman, mother, immigrant, cancer survivor, artist, and Non-profit executive member have enabled her to empathetically relate to her clients and help them through counselling art creation, and other creative programs she provides in the community. After many years of knowing and supporting I2CRC, Atessa is proud to consider herself a board member there. Where the focus is on providing resources for the most vulnerable individuals in the community.
