Meet our Board

A Family and Youth Counsellor by training, Afkham is a community builder and civic activist, extensively working and volunteering with the private, public, and not-for-profit sectors for over 25 years.  Her relentless advocacy for public good expands to a vast arena in social justice and represents the most vulnerable and marginalized populations.

An ardent activist and a tireless community volunteer. Halimeh has done extensive charitable work with the Canadian Cancer Society, an Advisory Board Member at CHAT, and on behalf of many marginalized groups both in Iran and here in Toronto. 

An active community volunteer and advocate in the Greater Toronto Area (GTA) for the past 20 years. As an community builder, Mary has volunteered with regional non-profit organizations such as CHATS, Iranian Cancer Society, and Iranian Women’s Organization of Ontario (IWOO).

Shafagh Azhandeh holds a BA in Fine Arts and has taught arts for over fourteen years. Her vision creates artworks that are mixed in textures and materials and are projected in an uncomplicated two-dimensional platform.

As an innovative community economic developer and employment specialist with the social service sector, Sina works with community members, organizations, educational institutions, and various industry partners to negotiate employment, skills training, entrepreneurship and development solutions in a current, pluralistic and sustainable manner.

Shirin Shahbazi is A multi-disciplinary artist who firmly believes in the enormity of nature and earth and the opportunities they present to cherish and celebrate life, Love, and harmony. In creating a piece, she blends texture, the environment, and local elements to cultivate universal dialogue for the collective viewing audience.
